Bad Hair Day

Both tops and dress from mom, Abercrombie and Fitch jeans, thrifted shoes, TJ Maxx bag

It’s one of those days where my hair refuses to cooperate. I tried to poof it up, but it’ll go flat again after a few minutes. And then I tried to wear a headband, but I think that just made it worse. I just can’t win. :(

Yesterday at the mall, my friend and I found this small Indian store. They sold authentic Indian clothing, and the dresses were absolutely gorgeous! But they were so expensive too. T_T The lady says all the dresses were handmade from India, and she gave me a good discount on this one dress because it was the last one. Whee~ It’s the perfect spring dress! I can’t want to wear it!

I really liked that store. The owners are an old couple who kept doting on me and my friend. The lady insisted to see me in the dress when I tried it on, and the man let me have some (fake) roses from their little shrine. I’ll definitely be back as soon as I have enough saved up for another dress. XD

Red Lipstick

Mossimo top, A&F jeans, Payless booties, Glorietta Teen Zone bracelet, Sunglasses from mom

Nothing spells glamorous quite like red lipstick. I love it! Everyone needs to don red lipstick, stat!

I’ll confess: I only manged to pull off the first pose because I actually was losing my balance that moment. A second after my camera took the picture, I stumbled on my back. Eep. I love how drapey this top is. I tried to capture the drapeyness on the close-up. I need a new backdrop for my full-body shots, but I have no one to take pictures for me. :(

I like the idea of posting close-ups along with my outfit for a better look at my hair and makeup. I always say that an outfit is never complete without hair that’s well put together. Plus, I’m just so narcissistic that way. What do you think?

All Blue

This is my go to outfit after pulling an all-nighter, just because it’s the easiest to put together. Not particularly fascinating, but on days like these I just want to get dressed and go. There are way too many prints in this outfit, but I think it works. :D
  • Skullcandy lowrider headphones
  • Merona knit hat
  • Elephant print sweater from SM
  • B&W striped sweater from Sears
  • Beige shirt from Eddie Bauer
  • Star printed wristwarmers from Hot Topic
  • Human jeans
  • Black Converse (with Hello Kitty laces!)
  • Checkered bag from some sidewalk bazaar

Granny Sweater

thrifted sweater and shoes, Express pants

I forgot to mention this the last time: I got featured on the Candy Magazine website! Pretty cool beans, yo. Click here for my feature. :D

I saw this granny-looking sweater at Buffalo Exchange the other week. I was amused, so I went and got it the next week. It was 50% off so I got it for $8. Yay! I still think Buffalo Exchange is ridiculously overpriced for a supposedly thrift store. :/ But sometimes, they’re worth it. I got a vintage black dress for $9 too. Score! Anyway, the sweater is very cozy. Makes me want to sleep. Just like what my grandmother did. Hehe! Also, yay for pants that are not jeans!

Frumpy Librarian

Aunt's jacket, Ralph Lauren shirt, thrifted skirt, Target tights and hat, Charlotte Russe shoes

I look kinda frumpy today, but that’s okay because I felt like being frumpy. Haha! And in my mind, frumpy + book = librarian. Kinda like Yomiko Readman from Read or Die? Except she’s not frumpy? Err…

Not sure what I feel about the color combination though. I’ve said before that I’m not very fond of brown, and that shade of green reminds me of celeries. Yuck. I thought together, they could cancel out each other’s yuckiness? Hahaha! I love the skirt though! _ I got it at some Boardwalk a few years ago as a last-minute outfit for some distant family’s wedding. It’s really grown on me since then.

The jacket is a hand-me-down from my mom’s friend. My mom, aunts, and their friends like to pass on their old clothes to me. I really appreciate it, except they’re all smaller than me. So all the clothes end up looking cropped on me. It’s ok though; I make it work. Hehe.

Babydoll

Amanda Smith coat, Target dress, shirt, tights, and hat, Payless booties

I absolutely love this dress! I got it on clearance a few months ago at Target. Imagine my thrill when I found out they went off the rack, but the very last dress on clearance came in my size. SCORE! I love clearance shopping at Target. :D (I just realized this is almost an all-Target outfit. Meep.)

I’m torn between wanting winter to stay and wanting it to go away. On one hand, it’s cool how I can wear coats and scarves and all that because there’s no winter back home in the Philippines. On the other hand, I miss wearing other colors, and I’m COLD! I’ve also been looking at the style gallery from Manila and I keep thinking it to myself, “Ugh, I can’t wait for it to get warmer.” But then again, I really like wearing my scarves and knit hats. Meep!

I’m really looking forward to spring and being able to wear more colors. XD During the winter, I just tend to lean towards black, gray, blue, and/or red. I know there’s no harm in wearing other colors, but for some reason I really love those colors in the winter. In the spring, I’m breaking out my yellows, pinks, and greens. Can’t wait!

Don't procrastinate, folks!

Forever 21 gray top, Mossimo long-sleeved shirt, Jag jeans, thrifted shoes and necklace, Target hat, Etienne Aigner bag

I originally wasn’t planning on posting today because I feel positively gross. But I guess I should keep going while I’m still on a roll. Yay sleep deprivation and caffeine overkill! Remember to study ahead of time, people! I think I did well on my exam today, but I can’t be sure until I get it back. Meep!

So this is something I just threw together because I was cramming all night. Again, I was feeling really gross but I pulled myself together. I kinda have a love-hate thing for those flared jeans. They remind me of my six-year-old jeans which is extremely flared and a bit loose on me now (from the stretching, I think? I sure as heck know I didn’t get smaller LOL). But then when I put them on, I love them! I still don’t wear them much though. Skinnies are still my favorite. :3

By the way, thank you so much for rating and commenting on my outfits. Feedback is always appreciated! My style isn’t set in stone just yet (I doubt it ever will be), so if you guys have any constructive criticisms, don’t be afraid to tell me! :D

Dream Wedding Dress

My five-year-old self would love this to be her dream weddings dress. My twenty-year-old self still kinda does.

Faux Uniform

Wet Seal jacket, Boscov's turtleneck, Human skirt, Forever 21 hat and tights, Aerosololes boots

Involvement Fair, day 2! Still trying to look sharp and intellectual-like. LOL Today was much slower than yesterday. I spent most of my time at our booth people watching. It was a long and exhausting day nonetheless, and it kinda shows in my pictures.

I’ve had that red jacket for the longest time! It’s one size smaller than my usual, but it works. I like the little crop on my waist. The skirt is what I dub as my schoolgirl skirt. It’s a wish fulfillment because my high school uniform was actually quite dull. I also had another skirt similar to this one, but it suddenly went missing. I never even had the chance to wear it. :( Where are you, skirt? I miss you!!! And yay, my Aerosoles boots again. I love how versatile the are. They’re so, so comfortable.

Moonstruck

Billabong coat, H&M skirt, Target tights and earrings, gift from mom ring, Charlotte Russe shoes, Etienne Aigner bag

Looking sharp for today’s Involvement Fair at school. :D I’ve been eyeing that coat ever since I first saw it at Laguna Beach last Thanksgiving. I just HAD to have it! It was love at first sight! Took me a while to get it because I couldn’t find it anywhere else, so I resorted to scavenging online. Totally worth it. ♥

The diamond pinky ring is a gift from my mom a few years ago. She’s constantly reminding me to keep it safe and never, ever lose it. I’m not that disorganized. :( Speaking of rings, I need to find a ring for my right ring finger. Long story, but let’s just say it’s my security blanket. ;)

Last picture is a close up of my accessories. Still loving the nail art!

I was able to recruit a potential member to our club by telling him I loved his bag. Then he said he loved my coat. Then I said I loved his shoes. Hahaha! Well, I wasn’t lying! He did have good style. We seemed to hit it off on the spot. His friend passed by and he asked her to take a picture of the both of us. Aww, cute.

Why are the recycling bins so far away from my dorm? :( I had to walk across the parking lot to take out my plastic bottles, paper, and cardboard properly. I’m a recycle freak. I just don’t like the thought of things going to waste, which explains my hoarding habit. But knowing that what I no longer need will be put to good use makes me feel better about letting them go.

Spring-like Winter

Landmark striped cardigan, Penshoppe shirt, Human jeans, Aerosoles boots, thrifted Mickey Mouse necklace

Another simple outfit~ This year’s winter has been notoriously short and warm. There’s really no need to bundle up these days…

I love my Mickey Mouse pendant! XD My little sister got it for me from a sidewalk bazaar near our condo. I went there the next day and got some more awesome accessories. ♥ Also loving my Penshoppe shirt. I used to wear it every chance I could get. The boots are Aerosoles, which I got at Rustan’s for $200. Ouch, very pricey. But they’re very comfortable and totally worth it. And my jeans… Hehe! I can’t count how many pairs of jeans I have. I have far too many! Another fashion resolution for me this year is to expand my bottom wear and venture away from jeans. Wish me luck! I really can’t ignore a great pair of jeans.

The last picture was taken from my Macbook because I got too lazy to take a decent looking macro shot from my point-and-shoot. (I miss my SLR. T_T I left it at home so my parents can use it. Come back to meeeeee~) Anyhoo! I did the nail art myself using a stamping kit I got at an outlet mall kiosk. It was originally about $30, but I kept holding out until the saleslady brought it down to $15. Woot! Now that’s what I call haggling!
